Farm team fun with ClarensXtreme

At Vastrap we believe it’s important to get to know our staff outside the work environment. Our staff is one of the most important assets of our farming business and a happy and motivated team is essential to keep productivity high and to keep the work environment pleasant. A few years ago we started doing team building and offsite excursions and these activities have been a huge success. It’s not always easy finding exciting things to do in our area, but this year (2015) we really hit the jackpot with ClarensXtreme, an outdoor teambuilding company situated an hour and a half’s drive from us in one of the most beautiful parts of the country at the foothills of the Maluti mountains. We had such a fun day doing things like Zip Line, Quad Biking, Archery, Put-Put and Paintball. We hired a bus to get everyone there and enjoyed the fantastic hospitality of the ClarensXtreme team (thank you Lizanne!). We were the first farming group that they have ever hosted and I think we all agreed that the day was a huge success with everyone putting on a brave face to try all the activities. The paintball competition after lunch was a particular highlight! Everyone went home exhausted and happy after a busy and active day.

During the lunch break we also handed out awards for long service and performance. The long service awards ranged from 5 years to 35 years – two people, Malefa Lephatsoe and Thabiso Rasoeu, have been with us for 30 years or more! They will each be given a cow in appreciation of their loyal service. Other awards were for 100% Work Attendance, Excellent Workmanship and Extraordinary Effort. Special gifts will also be given to the recipients of these awards.
