Thank you to everyone who supported the 2015 Vastrap Auction that took place on Friday, 14 August. We had a great day and really enjoyed hosting everyone who came from near and far to be with us. The most rewarding part of our auction was to see such a great turnout, with a lot of repeat customers as well as new buyers. There definitely was something on offer for everyone, with prices varying from R15’000 to as high as R170’000. Astute buyers, who had done their research and know their genetics, were richly rewarded on the day with real value for money on top quality animals. We are proud to be associated with all our partners and guest sellers who also believe in our policy of selling all animals that are offered on the day with the result that only one animal that received a bid was not sold.
The average price of bulls sold on the day was R42’850. The top priced bull was Celsius VST 12-36, which sold for R130’000.
The average price of pregnant heifers was R33’285. The top priced heifer was Ginger VST 13-28 sold to Rohan and Dylan Meintjies for R170’000.
The average price of pregnant cows was R33’800. The top priced cow was Odette MHB 08-38 sold to Rohan and Dylan Meintjies for R70’000.
