Vastrap Boran is in the privileged position to have a large selection of Boran cows to flush. Only the top animals are flushed to improve the Vastrap Boran herd and a selection of these embryos are also available for sale. We consider the selling of embryos to be an integral part of our marketing strategy.

Good evening I would like to get an advise on embryo transferes. I would like to know which option is better between buying a cow and flushing it or buying embryos which are on the market. I am considering embryo transplant program to advance my genetic pool but I’m not sure which angle should I approach this.

Hi Leteipa, how lucky that you are from Kenya, the original home of the Boran! There is no need for you to get embryos from South Africa. You will be able to get great animals in Laikipia at places like Ol Pejeta. Go to the Kenyan Boran Society website for more info – http://www.borankenya.org

Molemo, all females that have an Odette mother are also called Odette. The line is an awesome line that breeds white, but I am not sure which individual cow you are referring to.
