This impressive Boran bull, Griffen MHB 06-24 (NDA 9 x KPO 303) derives his name from his damline, which is Ginger. The Granddam of the Ginger bloodline is KPO 303 which is also the damline of HVT 97-017 (717). KPO 303 is one of Francois Smit’s favourite cows and amongst the very best Ol Pejeta cows. As can be seen from the photo below, NDA 9 is a truly impressive animal! For those looking for larger framed animals that carry a lot of beef, this is the line to look for.

Griffen has no K6K 2459 or KPO 786 in his genetics, which makes him a very valuable asset in any Boran herd. His full sister Ginger MHB 06-48 was sold in 2012 to Tom Breytenbach of Brenaisance Wine and Stud for R400 000. His full brother Goliat MHB 06-47 is currently used extensively in the VASTRAP BORAN stud.
Griffen’s greatest strength is his width across his chest, but he is also a very correct bull with length and depth. Griffen was used as the sire to flush both Jackie MHB 05-36 and Jackie MHB 08-08, which were the highest 3-in-1 and pregnant cows sold at the 2012 National Auction for R280 000 and R150 000 respectively. His calves to Jackie MHB 08-08 are as good as any that I have seen.
Unlike Goliat who breeds only red calves, Griffen throws 20% “bont” calves and is perfect for breeders breeding for Nguni studs wishing to put beef in their herd.

Wil net graag uitvind of julle enigsins jong Boran bulle ook verkoop
Groete
Hi Antoinette, oor die algemeen verkoop ons bulle van min of meer 3 jaar. Is daar ‘n rede hoekom julle jonger as dit soek? Groete, Quentin
Hoeveel kos n algemene bull en n koei
Hi Michael
Albei is maar afhangend van die genetika, bouvorm en syfers. Maar om ń goeie dier te kry kyk jy na so R40’000 – R45’000.
